Sweet Hija and Shiners Fannin Peppy will be sold at the Mixed Winter Sale in Oklahoma City at the Heritage Place on January 13 and 14, 2011. Click on the link to open Heritage Place website and download the sale catalog. Shiners Fannin Peppy (Fanny) will be sold on January 13, Sweet Hija on January 14. Here is some additional information about both horses:
Shiners Fannin Peppy (Hip Number 248)
See registration papers within Flying Hat Ranch site under Shiners Fannin Peppy.
Shiners Fannin Peppy “Fanny” was trained to the saddle by Duncan Steele-Park of GCH Land and Cattle Co. of Peaster, Texas. She spent ninety days with him on cattle, working to determine her cutting prospects. She is a bit laid back for a cutter, but is a reining prospect since her bloodline is Shiners Lena Doc out of Carol Rose stables. Duncan’s cell phone number is 662-609-6935. His e-mail is duncansteelepark@yahoo.com This is my last phone number and e-mail for Duncan. GCH Land and Cattle Co. also has a website.
Fanny is quite friendly and gentle. I have ridden her bareback. Yet, she is assertive and has sought to dominate an older paint mare that we have here on the ranch. I have used a hackamore and halter for riding. Duncan used a snaffle bit.
Fanny will be a full sister to Sweet Hija’s (see below) foal.
Fanny is currently at Jimmie Hardin in Aubrey, Texas, being fitted for sale. She has been there for two months. Hardin’s phone number is 940-365-2816.
Fanny has no bad habits.
Sweet Hija (Hip Number 803)
See registration papers within Flying Hat Ranch site under Sweet Hija.
Sweet Hija is a King Ranch bred and trained quarter horse. She has spent ninety days on cattle with J. R. Ramirez of King Ranch. She is a King Ranch legacy mare I purchased in 2003, and I have seen her cut cattle in front of an audience at the 2003 King Ranch Legacy Sale. See Performance Horse magazine in the months following the October sale for more information on the sale, including a photo of J. R. Ramirez. Since her purchase, she was ridden until 2005 regularly, but not on cattle. I have ridden her infrequently since 2005.
Hija is presently pregnant with a female foal, inseminated by Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery reproduction center on the Brazos. She is due in April 2011. The sire is Shiners Lena Doc out of Carol Rose’s stables. Fanny (see above) is a full sister to this female foal. Dr. Semira Mancill 817-304-0524 mobile, 817-594-9232 office. Mancill performed an ultrasound to sex Hija’s fetus.
Upon the discretion of Carol Rose, the live-foal guarantee MAY be transferable. The new owner must file an application with Carol Rose for transfer to obtain the live-foal guarantee and be approved of by the Stallion Manager. Carol Rose Quarter Horses phone number is 940-665-9304.
Sweet Hija is presently with Jimmie Hardin of Aubrey, Texas, being fit for sale (940-365-2816).
Hija has no bad habits.
